What is NextLAN?NextLAN is a suite of fiber and copper products jointed designed, manufactured and supported by communications leaders, Superior Essex and Leviton. Together, Superior Essex and Leviton have formed one of the most technically experienced collaborations in the world for the development of communications cabling networks. What is included in a NextLAN system? The NextLAN system includes the cable and connecting hardware in the permanent link of the network (as defined by TIA/EIA 568-B.1 for CAT 5e, TIA/EIA 568-B.2-1 for CAT 6, TIA/EIA 568-B.2-10 for CAT 6a, TIA/EIA 568-B.3 for Optical Fiber Cabling and Components), and includes the entire channel when Leviton equipment cords and patch cords are installed. What are the advantages of using NextLAN?Leviton and Superior Essex, through the NextLAN design alliance, work together on new product solutions to ensure system performance for the most demanding real-world environments. By jointly designing, manufacturing and supporting the NextLAN suite of products, we are able to guarantee repeatable performance, which is far more important than a single test report that may illustrate great margin over the specification. Additionally, NextLAN copper solutions are independently verified bi-annually to meet the specifications guaranteed by each NextLAN system, and all tests are available for customer viewing. Finally, NextLAN system performance guarantees are backed by a lifetime warranty on certified horizontal and backbone systems with a single point of contact and comprehensive coverage for parts, labor, and applications. How often and by whom are NextLAN products tested?Intertek (ETL) conducts ongoing bi-annually Compliance Testing of NextLAN Structured Copper Cabling systems in accordance to the NextLAN Specification, REV. 5 of NextLAN Category 5e+, 6+ and 6eX channel solutions. This approach helps guarantee that our products continue to meet NextLAN guarantees. Are NextLAN products covered by a manufacturer's warranty?Yes. Who warranties the NextLAN systems?NextLAN warranties are administered by a single point of contact, Leviton, and are supported by both Superior Essex and Leviton. Together, Superior Essex and Leviton jointly warrant the permanent links of the network (as defined by TIA/EIA 568-B.1 for CAT 5e, TIA/EIA 568-B.2-1 for CAT 6, TIA/EIA 568-B.2-10 for CAT 6a, TIA/EIA 568-B.3 for Optical Fiber Cabling and Components), which includes the cable and connecting hardware. This warranty is extended to include the entire channel provided that the applicable Leviton patch cords and Leviton equipment cords are utilized, and all products are installed within areas protected from outside elements. How may I obtain information about the NextLAN warranty?Warranty application information can be obtained by contacting the NextLAN Contractor Programs Administrator, Dave Rumpakis, at 800.922.6229, or via e-mail at contractorprograms@leviton.com. |
