NextLAN 10Gc Passes CAT 6A/10G Performance Test
January 16, 2006 – Superior Essex (NASDAQ: SPSX) and Leviton announced today that Intertek/ETL Semko (“ETL”), a national testing laboratory, has independently tested NextLAN UTP 10 Gigabit Ethernet Cabling System and it passes all TIA/EIA 568-B.2-10 Augmented Category 6, Draft 2 electrical performance requirements. Compliance to these draft standard requirements is critical to ensuring that the installed cabling system will be capable of supporting upcoming 10GBase-T (10 Gigabit Ethernet) electronics. The 100-meter, 4-connector channel test confirmed that the NextLAN 10GC System significantly exceeded 100% of the required parameters including Alien Crosstalk, Attenuation and Return Loss.
Developed through an extensive research and engineering alliance, the NextLAN 10GC System was introduced in mid-2005 and combines Leviton eXtreme® 10G UTP connectors, patch panels and patch cords with Superior Essex 10Gain™ UTP cable. The system eliminates the adverse effects of Alien Crosstalk using the patented Cone of Silence™ on Leviton connectors and patch panels, and the unique noise-suppressing twist design in Superior Essex ' s easy-to-install, circular cross-section cable design.
